Natércia Napoleão

Natércia is a first generation immigrant from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. When she was six years old she tilted her head up to the blue sky and asked “God” for a voice, and that’s when she became an artist.

Her first gateway into the business was through a passion for musical theatre. Upon being accepted in the Grant MacEwan Theatre Arts program in Edmonton, AB, she embarked on a career path that eventually led her to further her training through the University of Alberta’s BFA Acting program.

Trained in both musical and classical theatre, Natércia is an actress, singer, writer and theatre creator. She has a passion for theatre that is thought-provoking and relevant, as well as dramaturgical new work development.

Past new work developments include: Cleave by Elena Belyea, Without You by Nicole Moeller, The Kaufman Kabaret by Hannah Moscovitch, Deserters by Kenneth T. Williams and multiple TYA developments through Concrete Theatre.

Natércia is in search of artistic leadership development amongst other opportunities.

Recent acting credits include: Fado: The Saddest Music in the World (Puente Theatre/ Firehall Arts Centre)

Television credits include: Caution: May Contain Nuts and Tiny Plastic Men (APTN).
