Sarah Richardson
Sarah is an award-winning musical director, multi-instrumentalist, singer, actor, dancer, and educator based out of Halifax.
Sarah is an award-winning musical director, multi-instrumentalist, singer, actor, dancer, and educator based out of Halifax. She won a Merritt Award for Musical Direction for Chester Playhouse’s production of “Ruthless: The Stage Mother of All Musicals”, and a nomination for HEIST’s production of “New Waterford Boy”. She is also a founding member of Whale Song Theatre. Sarah was a member of the inaugural year of Neptune Theatre’s “Chrysalis Project”, assistant musical directing on “Shakespeare in Love” and the Canadian Regional Premiere of “The Color Purple”. Since then, she has worked for Neptune Theatre as Assistant Musical Director on “Peter Pan”, vocal coach and pianist on “Calendar Girls”, and was cast as Lucille Renaud in “Controlled Damage: the Viola Desmond Story”. She is also an educator within Neptune, musically directing YPCo’s productions of “Les Misérables: School Edition” and the Canadian premiere of “My Side of the Country”. With Whale Song Theatre, she has musically directed “Heathers: the Musical”, “Peter and the Starcatcher”, “9 to 5: the Musical”, “Assassins”, and “Company”.
