Ray Strachan

is a Winnipeg born artist of Grenadian and Filipino descent. He trained with The Black Hole Theatre and The Banff Centre, and has worked in Film/TV, and at various Theatres across Canada.

Ray is a Winnipeg born theatre artist of Grenadian and Filipino descent. He has trained with The Black Hole Theatre Company and at The Banff Centre for Performing Arts, and has worked at various Theatres across Canada. He was the inaugural winner of the Winnipeg Theatre Award (Evies) for Best Performance by a Lead Actor for his work in The Whipping Man in 2017, and also received an Evie for his supporting performance in Deserter in 2018. Ray has also been a Senior Staff Member of The Winnipeg Fringe Festival since 2009, and has also acted, directed and produced, various Fringe shows over the years. Ray is currently teaching Theatre Performance at The University of Winnipeg, and has taught Theatre and Film acting at Prairie Theatre Exchange, and is a founding member and Instructor of The ANANSI School for the Performing Arts.
