HAUI, aka Howard J. Davis, is a diverse multi-disciplinary entrepreneur of many artistic trades, including performing, directing, design & visual arts.
Career highlights to date include acting and video/projection designing at Canada's Shaw Festival; assistant directing for the sesquicentennial production of the opera LOUIS RIEL at the National Arts Centre; being invited to be part of the inaugural "Bud's" program as part of the Michael Langham Director's Workshop for Classical Direction at the Stratford Festival of Canada; directing his internationally screened, award-winning film C'est Moi; assistant producing and stills photography/EPK on Marie Clements feature film RED SNOW; having his photography commissioned and used as part of the design for Canadian Opera Company's production of Rufus Wainwright and Daniel MacIvor's HADRIAN.
Upcoming Haui is directing, writing, and producing a new interdisciplinary work about Canadian contralto Portia White supported by the Ontario Arts Council. His feature film debut, entitled Mixed↑, co-produced with Jack Fox, will premiere in November 2020. In 2019 He was the recipient of ByBlack's People's Choice Award for Best Director.
