Tsholo Visions Khalema
is a multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual, multitalented artist currently based in Toronto. An actor, director and a self taught film editor/ photographer, Tsholo’s art practices aims to enhance the Black and Transgender voice(s) showing the diverse intersectionality of blackness.

A multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual, multi talented artist currently based in Toronto. Tsholo is a South African Transgender man born in the midst of apartheid and witnessed the fall of an era while assimilating to life in Canada. The last born in a Methodist household, growing up on the
westernmost prairie provinces of Canada where he began his lifelong pursuit of learning the art of theatre and film. An Actor, director and a self taught film editor/ photographer, his art practices aims to enhance the Black and Transgender voice(s) showing the many different diverse intersectionality of blackness.
Black transgender stories and any stories that are often untold or deemed unworthy. As an artist, Khalema's goals are to challenge expired beliefs and practices of storytelling and find different interpretations that reflect the greater community within the world we live in now.
Recently, Tsholo was the recipient of the 2019-20 RBC directing apprenticeship with The Musical Stage company. He had the opportunity to work with their producing partner Obsidian Theatre on the Dora award winning co-production of Caroline Or, Change at the historic Winter Garden Theatre. Studying and investigating the art of dramaturg, He aims to continue expanding and learning as an artist.
Recently nominated for best leading actor for his portrayal of Simon in Lilies, or the Revival of a Romantic Drama produced by Lemon-tree Productions, WhyNotTheatre and Buddies and Bad Times Theatre. Through all his artistic practices he’s aim is to investigate stories untold and highlight bodies unseen often in theatre and film.
